Key Dates

Full details of the transfer process will be provided to parents and carers when the child starts their final year in primary school.  There are important deadlines which you will need to keep in mind.  If you miss the dates your chance of being offered a place at a preferred school may be reduced. 

The general Closing Date for applications (the CAF common applications form) to start secondary schools in September 2012 will be published later.  (The closing date for applications to start in September 2011 was Friday October 29, 2010).  Please refer to the closing dates for applications to selective Grammar schools below, and to Independent (private) schools.

Bexley LEA — admissions to secondary schools in September 2012:

Bexley includes the selective Grammar schools Beths, Bexley Grammar, Chislehurst & Sidcup, and Townley Grammar.

Bexley has announced the following key dates for applications to start school in September 2012.  See the Bexley LEA website for more information

> the closing date for applications to start selective Grammar schools in September 2012 will be July 15, 2011.  Applications opened on May 3, 2011

> The selection tests will be taken on September 20 (Maths) and September 21 (verbal reasoning), 2011.  Results will be posted by 1st class mail in October 2011, 1 week before the closing date for general secondary schools applications so you will know if your child has a place in Bexley in time to make other arrangements if necessary.

 

Bromley LEA: — admissions to secondary schools in September 2012:

Newstead Wood (girls) and St Olave’s (boys) are selective grammar schools.  A booklet outlining the proposed admissions policy for 2012/2013 is available to download. Applications for places in Year 7 should be made by the due date in the Autumn Term prior to the September of admission, on the Common Application Form provided by the relevant home authority. Completion of a Supplementary Information Form, available from the School, is also required.

Key dates for applications to start Bromley selective schools in September 2012 are:

> Closing date for applications (a supplementary application form ‘SIF’ is required) is Monday October 31, 2011 — same date as for the essential CAF Common Application Form.

> Selection test date is to be announced

Kent CC has announced the following key dates for pupils starting in September 2012:

> The closing date for registrations for the Kent selective test is Friday July 1, 2011.

> Selection test dates will be September 13 & 14 for Kent applicants, and September 17, 2011 for out-of-county applicants
